Our Community

The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is made up of ordinary families and individuals across USA, united by a shared faith.

Living our faith in towns and cities across America.

The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is a diverse global community of people stretching from North America and the Caribbean to Argentina, the United Kingdom, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand.

Following their arrival in the US in 1840, our members have spread from the east coast (New York, Pennsylvania, and Maryland) to the Midwest (Michigan and Illinois) down to Texas in the south and the west coast (California, Washington and Oregon).

Globally, the church includes more than 55,000 members united by a shared faith and focus on following the word of Jesus Christ and making a positive contribution to the world.

The Markham Family

Meet the Markham family, members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church, along with Hayley and Ciara, who work in their family-owned business, and James, the local butcher and neighbour.

Meet Joyce Lowe

Sit down with Joyce Lowe, member of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church (PBCC). Joyce was born in Jamaica to Chinese parents, and in 1954 she moved to the UK where she trained as a midwife and went on to become the Head of the North Bristol Antenatal Clinic. Joyce shares that she has a heart to help people, living by the Christian values of care and compassion.

Our neighbors.

Far from being exclusive or separate from society, we like to think the Plymouth Brethren have been good neighbors for two centuries. Many our neighbors agree with us wholeheartedly and have agreed to tell us their thoughts.

More about PBCC.

Established around 200 years ago, the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church was founded by John Nelson Darby, one of the most influential Protestant thinkers of the 19th century.

Driven by our hard-working members, we have established a network of enterprises, which, whilst not owned by the Church, exist to support the Community, and local, regional and global communities where our members live, work and serve.
