Our Beliefs
The Plymouth Brethren faith is built on the teachings of Scripture, the person of Jesus Christ, and the fellowship of believers.
What we believe.
The Plymouth Brethren Christian Church is a mainstream Christian church, and much like other Christian religions around the world, we celebrate and follow the one God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Fellowship is central to our faith.
One of the defining Plymouth Brethren beliefs is that we drink and eat only with those with whom we celebrate the Lord’s Supper, also referred to as Holy Communion.
This practice flows from a Plymouth Brethren belief that sharing a table is a spiritual act and a reflection of shared faith, not just a social one.
Members of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church harmoniously live and work side by side with people of all backgrounds and those with different faiths, or no faith at all.
We believe that all true believers in the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved and that being a member of the Plymouth Brethren is no guarantee of salvation.
We believe in the teachings of the Bible.
Plymouth Brethren values include a strong emphasis on family life, personal responsibility, modesty, and active service to the wider community.
The Church has no paid clergy and no formal hierarchy, placing the weight of Christian living on each individual and family.
Together, these values shape a way of life that is purposeful, caring, and community minded.
