Strong families and close community bonds are at the heart of Plymouth Brethren life.
We believe that strong families create strong communities, and that the values passed from parents to children form the foundation of a healthy society.
In practical terms, this means that Plymouth Brethren families prioritise time together. Extended family connections are also cherished.
Parents take responsibility for their children’s education in values and faith, working alongside schools, including OneSchool Global campuses across the UK, to raise confident, capable young people equipped for modern life.
Beyond the immediate family, the wider Brethren community provides a remarkable network of support. As modern life in Britain continues to evolve in a fast-changing world, members of the community seek to support one another through everyday challenges and opportunities. For example, the community will rally together to help those facing hardship or in need of support.
Young people growing up in the community also have peers and mentors. Elderly members are similarly cherished and cared for within their families and the wider fellowship.

Business & Entrepreneurship
Whilst the Church itself does not own or operate businesses, our members have a proud tradition of entrepreneurship stretching back to the Industrial Revolution. Today, member-owned businesses operate across virtually every sector of the British economy, creating thousands of jobs, contributing significant tax revenues, and building lasting relationships with local suppliers and communities.
