Rapid Relief Team

Rapid Relief Team (RRT) delivers assistance where it is needed most across the UK, from providing welfare support to the emergency services during major incidents to supporting charities, community groups and vulnerable families.

When disasters strike or communities face crisis, RRT volunteers mobilise to provide practical support. Volunteers regularly provide refreshments and welfare support for firefighters, police officers and ambulance crews. RRT served more than 18,000 meals to UK firefighters at incidents, training exercises and community events in 2025.

RRT also runs national appreciation initiatives for frontline workers, including A&E Appreciation Week and Police Appreciation Week, which saw more than 300 welfare events across the country across both weeks in 2025.

From its UK base, the RRT also coordinates humanitarian relief efforts in partnership with aid organisations and local charities. 

Following the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, RRT delivered a three-year operation that provided 14 million meals to displaced families and communities affected by the conflict.  The charity has also supported families impacted by the crisis in Gaza, delivering more than two million meals through emergency food box programmes and humanitarian aid partnerships.

RRT also regularly supports emergency services during major incidents across the UK, with recent examples including support to communities affected by flooding in Tewkesbury in 2024, supporting emergency services during the major fire beside Glasgow Central Station in March 2026 and volunteers assisting police officers, ambulance crews and local communities responding to the Southport attacks in 2024.

The charity also proactively supports the emergency services with pre-planned activity, for example supporting Police Scotland during the US Presidential visit to Scotland, which saw the mobilisation of more than 700 volunteers over 10 days to deliver over 44,000 hot meals and welfare packs.
